Cementitious Slurry Repair Kit : Emulsion designed to absorb unwanted moisture in Cement Substrates

Cementitious WaterProofing Coating !!

We have all dealt with a cement substrate like an interior / exterior wall, a parapet , flat cementitious roofs, a cement pool substrate( dealing with hydrostatic pressure ) or any other cement surface, where you have an issue of moisture absorbed into the substrate and it's causing lots of issues and serious maintenance needs to take place!!

So usually you would use your normal products to try and solve this issue on walls or flat cement roofs, balcony's and showers. Even in cementitious pool substrates, hydrostatic pressure is a serious issue and can cause you to pay out serious amounts of money, to try and rectify the issue before your pools structure has integrity issues.

So, what kind of solution do we have for you ?

Cementitious Slurry Repair Kit :

Latex emulsion( Fibre-Enriched ) specifically developed for compatibility with cements, especially Portland type cements. The principal advantages of are enhanced adhesion and resilience, leading to improved impact resistance of the cement. The secondary advantages is its ability to absorb unwanted moisture in concrete and cement surfaces and act as a base layer waterproofing barrier.

So what happens is, the moisture gets absorbed/removed from the cementitious substrate and it evaporates - thus no moisture is trapped and able to cause bubbling or other issues with the coating or waterproofing to be done on top.

The Cement Powder is mixed with the supplied Latex Emulsion from a 1:1 to 1:2 or even 3 mixing ratio resulting in a paintable coating - if you do require a more thicker slurry mix, for hand troweling , add more of the cement powder to your mix after you have measured the initial 1:1 mix.

The coating is applied with a roller with forward and backward strokes . the 20kg kit, covers 2 x coats at 12-16 sqm at about 5mm thick. We recommend the use of a Duramesh Membrane or a Mapenet 150, if the product is to be applied on surfaces which are highly stressed or which have micro-cracking, and the mesh must be inserted between the two layers of coating. This needs to be a standard practice iro the waterproofing of pools and showers.

Wait 4 to 8 hours in between the two coats and wait 24 hours before applying the final coating such as Elastomeric's or Liquid Rubber Compounds.

This product is available for DIY applications, but we can assist you countrywide with installation through our panel of approved applicators.
